Trekking, alpine climbing, and high-altitude exploration in the Indian Himalayas (Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Uttarakhand) involve extreme hazards including Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), HAPE/HACE, sudden atmospheric changes, avalanches, and remote wilderness risks.
